This stunning white wine from the Canary Islands is made from hand-harvested Listan Blanco, that’s spontaneously fermented by native yeast in wooden vats and French oak barrels. Aged for 9 months on the lees, the result is a refined and poised expression of Listan Blanco with an extraordinary sense of place. There’s inviting aromas of flint, linden, chamomile, and pear. While the palate follows with a softness, supported by a fine, mineral acidity and notes of white peach, pear, yellow apples, white grapefruit juice, and hints of blanched almonds and hay. Enjoy alongside grilled octopus, ceviche, croquettes, and Mediterranean fare.

Ocampo is located at the highest peak of Spain in the Canary Islands, where the viticulture wrestles with potatoes for thirsty waterfront real estate, and resilient indigenous vines braid down poor red-colored soils rich in organic minerals that cover the ancient volcanic soils beneath them. It was founded by López Díaz, who led the charge in getting the first DOP status in the Canaries for the Tacoronte-Acentejo region. He was later joined by Jonatan Garcia and winemaker Francisco Álvarez, where they are coaxing serious nerve, tension and impressive quality from these unique varieties: Listán Blanco, Albillo Crillolo, Malvasia Vocánica, Marmajuelo, Listán Negro, and Vijariego.
