The grapes for this delectable, dark ruby red blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Viognier come from the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail in the southern Rhône Valley, above the village of Suzette, some 1500 meters above sea level. Here Domaine Saint Amant enjoys a unique combination of soil, exposure and climatic conditions across its nearly 13 hectares of terraced vineyards, many of which are over 50 years old. Fresh black berries are accompanied by notes of toast and pepper on the nose, while the palate is lively, yet silky, with a lengthy and refreshing finish. Pair this one with pot roast, game, and creamy cheeses.

Domaine Saint Amant

Founded in 1992 by Jacques Wallut, Domaine Saint Amant is located in the heart of the southern Rhône, on the Dentelles de Montmirail, with 32 acres of small terraced vineyards up to 1800 feet above sea level. This unique placement, coupled with the mineral rich soil composed of Triassic limestone, marl, and rocky soil, allows for the development of elegant, yet powerful wines. The vineyard is certified organic, and no herbicides or pesticides are used on the property. In the winery, production is gentle and precise, preferring time rather than the technology to finesse the wines so that they reflect only the essence of this stunning terroir.
