"The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree" Malbec 2025

750ml

Sale price$21.00

*September Producer Spotlight*

This Malbec is sourced from calcareous soils in Uco Valley and loamy clay soils in Lujan de Cuyo. Hand-harvested and fermented with some whole clusters, the wine is aged in small concrete vats until the next harvest. A deep violet in the glass, this Malbec offers tantalizing aromas of red fruits, vanilla, and chocolate. This red wine is complex and rich with soft, ripe tannins and a fresh long finish. This medium-bodied wine pairs fantastically with grilled meats, pasta, and soft cheeses. Practicing organic.

Matias Riccitelli

Matías Riccitelli was born in Cafayate, Salta, a village in northern Argentina. After traveling the world through multiple harvests, gaining experience and anecdotes, he decided to blend everything he learned throughout his career with the teachings of his mentor and father, Jorge Riccitelli. Thus, in 2009, Riccitelli Wines was born. The winery is in Las Compuertas, the highest area of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza with their vineyards situated in the region’s best terroirs.
In 2015, Matías and his team brought “Riccitelli Patagonia” to life, along the banks of the Río Negro, with the aim of revitalizing forgotten grape varietals and old vineyards that withstand the test of time. In this region, they farm 17 hectares that were planted in the 1950s, focusing on several cool-climate varietals such as Pinot Noir, Bastardo, and Semillon.
