'SP68' Sicilia Rosso 2025

750ml

Sale price$44.00

Named for a road that near the owner and winemaker's Arianna Occhipinti's estate near Sicily's southeastern coast, this biodynamic red is made from 70% Frappato and 30% Nero d'Avola. The two varietals are native to Sicily and are grown in red, sandy soil over limestone rock. The bright and floral Frappato leads the opening aromas of the wine, with hints of dried herbs and spicy red berries. On the palate, flavors of raspberries, blackberries blossom, framed with balanced acidity and minerality. The finish is nice and long, perfect for grilled eggplant with fresh herbs and cozy game nights.

Arianna Occhipinti

Arianna Occhipinti is a seminal figure for the latest generation of wine lovers. Her rise to prominence has been meteoric, and rightfully so: anyone who has ever met Ari will instantly vouch for amazing talent and boundless energy. At 16, She fell in love with winemaking in her uncle’s Giusto Occhipinti's cellar. He was the owner of COS, one of Sicily’s most famous wineries, and her inspiration to study oenology and jump right into her own production. Years later, her wines have garnered international acclaim from critics and consumers alike. She works sustainably in certified organic vineyards, and her philosophy is as simple and elegant as her wines: "Respect wine as if it were a person. A person who carries with him a world, a story, an atmosphere. And he knows about the land from which he was born."
