Secateurs Riviera White Blend 2025

750ml

Sale price$23.50

Produced in Swartland, near a dry riverbed near Paardesberg, this vibrant white is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Viognier, which were hand harvested and co-fermented on skins for one week. A pale yellow in the glass, this wine opens with aromas of tree fruit, grapefruit, and slight spice. On the palate, the wine is refreshing and full bodied, with juicy notes of quince, citrus, minerality, and a savory finish. A fantastic beach day wine or partner for grilled fish, spaghetti squash, poultry, and salads with goat cheese.

A.A. Badenhorst Family Wines

Adi Badenhorst grew up among the vineyards of Groot Constantia, in Cape Town, South Africa where his grandfather served as general manager for 46 years. As a child, Adi spent his days picking (and occasionally stealing) grapes and made his first wine at age 13, with renowned winemaker Jean Daneel. Adi went on to study winemaking at Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute, then went to work harvests at Chateau Angelus & Alain Graillot in France, Wither Hills in New Zealand, and locally at Simonsig, Steenberg & Groote Post. He spent 9 years as winemaker at the esteemed Stellenbosch estate, Rustenberg.
In 2008, Adi and his cousin, Hein, bought a 60-hectare piece of land in the Swartland appellation, and A.A. Badenhorst Family Wines was born. Since its inception, the cousins have remained committed to the tenets of the family estate: to practice biological farming and make natural wines in the traditional manner. Over time they have acquired more vineyards and today farm 160 hectares.
