Redentore
Redentore is a project from the De Stefani family, which has produced wines in the Veneto since the late 19th century. Currently managed by fourth generation winemaker Alessandro De Stefani, and located in Refrontolo, a tiny, hilly village between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene — in the very heart of Prosecco — the winery focuses on small batch wines made with little to no intervention. All wines are made using organic grapes grown with no chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Alessandro De Stefani out of his way to create an environment conducive to the proliferation of good insects, wild animals and microorganisms in the soil, even going so far as to prepare his own compost.
Redentore wines are an homage to the culture of Venice, and a reference to the traditional Redentore festival, held every July to celebrate the end of the devastating plague that struck the city in the 1500s. Indeed, the striking label design is in honor to the famous cathedral where the festival first began.
