The life of Strega Liqueur began in 1860 from an old legend that places the city of Benevento at the center of a witches’ ritual. It is stated that witches from all over the world gathered at night around a magical walnut and created a magic potion that united couples that drank it forever. One of the most famous Italian liqueurs, Strega is known for its unique and unmistakable taste due to the exclusive use of natural ingredients. Its processing starts with the grinding of about 70 herbs and spices that are selected from all over the world for their unique properties. Among these herbs are Ceylon cinnamon, Florentine iris, Italian Apennine juniper, and Samnite mint, which grow along the riverbanks in the region. The liqueur gets its characteristic yellow color from the Saffron that is added to the herb distillate. It’s aged in ash barrels over a long period of time to ensure a perfect blending of the different aromas. A liqueur made out of a sun ray, Strega can be enjoyed in many ways: neat, over ice, or in a cocktail.

Located in Benevento, Italy, Strega has been in the same building, located close to a train station, since 1860. Founder Giuseppe Alberti understood the importance of being able to export his product all over the world hence why he set up shop next to a station. Today, Strega employs 75 people who are divided between their liqueur and pastry production, which opened in 1998. The secret of Strega Alberti lies in its ability to combine traditional products with technological progress. These traditions make Strega Alberti one of the most widespread brands in the world, continually providing quality products for the last 150 years.
