Lionesses 2023

750ml

Sale price$25.00

This white wine is made from Ehrenfelser and Kerner, two German varieties that are rarely found in Willamette Valley, which are sourced from Satori Springs vineyard in Oregon City. Aged in stainless steel tanks and a French oak barrel, this wine is reminiscent of a Bourgogne Aligote or a fine Muscadet. It showcases aromas of white florals, orange oil, nutmeg, and fennel while the palate boasts notes of Fuji-apple, lemon curd, cinnamon, and salinity. Pairs beautifully with grilled fish, pesto pasta, and goat cheese.

Franchere Wine Company

Franchere Wine Company is an exciting project helmed by Mike Hinds. An Oregon native, Mike got his start working in wine shops in Chicago. Launched with the 2013 vintage, Mike named his project Franchere after his great great grandfather, Gabriel Franchère, who arrived in Oregon in 1811 aboard the ill-fated ship, Tonquin. This regard for history, nature, and place runs through the wines of Franchere. His gentle approach to winemaking ensures that the wines express their central Willamette Valley origins. Fermentations are conducted exclusively with native yeasts and no enzymes, tannins, colorants, water, adjuncts, or gums are ever added during production. The wines are aged in used barrels and neutral tanks, and the end results are fresh, savory, and balanced.
