'La Lippa' Barbera d'Asti 2024

750ml

Sale price$22.00

A bright ruby red with lively purple highlights, La Lippa is a young, easygoing Barbera aged in stainless steel to preserve its fresh, vibrant character. On the nose, it opens with an intense burst of red fruit — ripe cherry, raspberry, and a hint of blackberry. The palate is dry and tangy, with Barbera's signature freshness carrying the fruit forward to a clean, bright finish. Light tannins keep it approachable and easy-drinking, making it especially enjoyable slightly chilled. Perfect with charcuterie and bread, it pairs well with pasta, rice, pizza, and even ethnic dishes — and for a fun surprise, try it alongside fish soups. The name "La Lippa" is a nod to a traditional Italian childhood game, which sums up the spirit of the wine perfectly — playful, unpretentious, and made for sharing.

La Gironda di Galandrino

Nestled in the heart of Monferrato in Piedmont, Italy — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape — La Gironda is a family-owned estate guided by Susanna Galandrino, her husband Alberto, and their family, whose roots in these hills run deep. Though the family long tended its own vineyards while producing winemaking machinery, a pivotal turn in 2000 brought them back to their true calling: wine. With Barbera as their great love, they craft Barbera d'Asti DOCG and the prestigious Nizza DOCG from historic vineyards on Il Bricco and Fraz. Chiesavecchia, alongside Moscato d'Asti, Brachetto d'Acqui, and other expressive Monferrato wines. Committed to sustainability long before it became fashionable, La Gironda earned ISO 14001 environmental certification in 2004, forgoing chemical herbicides and synthetic products in favor of manual vineyard management and minimal intervention in the cellar. Every bottle is an invitation to taste not just the wine, but the character, history, and passion of the people and land behind it.
