La Bastide Blanche Bandol Rose 2025

750ml

Sale price$29.00

Most rose is made as a bit of an afterthought, or as a by-product of the estate's red wine. Not so in Bandol. The coastal region west of St. Tropez is as renowned for its roses just as much as its long-aging reds. A pale, orange-salmon in the glass, this is the quintessential Riviera wine: refreshing enough for daytime quaffing, yet deep enough to stand up at the table. Aromas of peach blossom, nectarine, grapefruit rind & Herbes de Provence hint at flavors of wild strawberry, watermelon, citrus, and white pepper. Decant to enjoy now or save for up to 5 years and pair with tuna carpaccio and roast zucchini al fresco.

La Bastide Blanche

Founded in the early 1970s in historic Sainte-Anne du Castellet by Michel and Louis Bronzo, Domaine La Bastide Blanche is a family estate dedicated to producing exceptional Bandol wines. Their goal back then was to produce wines equal to their more famous neighbors, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Decades of painstaking work and careful stewardship later, the estate is now considered one of the top producers in France. Since that time, family has expanded their holdings to include Chateau de Castillon and Domaine Baumelles — both in Bandol. The winery has been certified biodynamic since 2020, all grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using indigenous yeasts. Intervention is as limited in the cellar as it is in the vineyard.
