This entry level red wine made from Teroldego grapes comes from 15 small plots with vines that average 35 years in age. Fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged in cement tanks and used foudres for a year. It opens with vibrant aromas of wild crushed berries, blue plums, and violets, interwoven with mineral notes of wet earth and flint. On the palate, the wine is juicy and fresh, delivering pure red and dark fruit flavors balanced by a smooth, medium body and fine, structured tannins. It culminates in a long, savory finish that captures the essence of the indigenous Teroldego grape with remarkable clarity and energy.

Elisabetta Foradori’s ‘wine life’ journey is a familiar tale, but one that we never tire of hearing. After the unexpected death of her father, Elisabetta took over the family estate. Although she was “born among the vines,” she took the helm from a sense of duty rather than one of passion or vocation, but eventually passion found her through the work itself, both in the vines and in the cellar. Despite being known as "the queen of Teroldego" throughout the 1990's, by 2000 Elisabetta had lost all personal connection to her work. A path of questioning, experimentation, and intuition led her to give up chasing the trends of the wine industry, and focus the estate towards making wines respectful of the soil, honoring local grapes, while using techniques she found interesting and less invasive.
Elisabetta is still very much a daily presence and "the face" of the winery, but her three children also have a hand in evolving the estate into the next phase of its existence. Her eldest son, Emilio, has headed the viticulture for a while and has been solely responsible for making the wines since 2013. Theo, her other son, represents the winery on travels, and has been an integral part of the winemaking since 2016. And let's not forget Myrtha, who after a long stretch working in farms in Oregon and Quebec has returned to Mezzolombardo and has already started Foradori's transformation from winery to full-fledged polycultural farm, having planted a vegetable garden with the pergola rows full of salads and radishes.
