Favonius is the name of the Roman God for the western wind that blows off of the Atlantic Ocean and is considered the mildest and most favorable of the directional winds, and the muse behind this Portuguese passion project from winemakers Rodrigo Martins and Pedro Cabanita. Produced from organically grown Fernao Pires and Arinto, this orange wine is floral, savory, and mouthwateringly fresh, with notes of tangerine peel, stone fruit, white pepper, and dried herbs. Never too funky, the finish is long and mineral-driven, making this a lovely aperitif or partner for rice dishes, seafood, and more.

Authentic Wines

Authentic Wines is a brand created by two friends who share the same attitude towards life — be authentic in everything they do. Winemakers Rodrigo Martins and Pedro Cabanita met at University in Lisboa and became instant friends over their love of terroirs and shared philosophies on how to properly care for them. Together they lead with innovation and authenticity in everything that they put their heart into, whether producing wine, making music, playing rugby or being Super Dads, Rodrigo and Pedro are ALL IN on their dedication and perseverance.

They produce natural wines, made only with fresh fermented juice. Nothing is added nor subtracted, keeping the wine whole and allowing it to reveal the natural characteristics of the grape varieties and geography. Their wines have an Atlantic influence, with natural acidity and freshness, sometimes even saltiness. We use organic farming to grow Portuguese grape varieties, mainly local, in Lisboa, near the western sea coast of Portugal.
