Domaine des Marrans is  family run estate founded in 1970 in  Fleurie, in the northernmost section of Beaujolais. Today, the owner and winemaker is the young and talented Mathieu Melinand, who joined the family domaine in 2008. With old vines and some of the top sites in all of Beaujolais, Mathieu is growing some of the most pristine Gamay out there. His Beaujolais Nouveau comes from the hamlet of Saint-Jean d’Ardieres, just outside of Morgon, where the terroir turns from granite to clay to limestone. With gorgeous purity and lift, and a seductive bouquet that evokes fresh red berries, warm spices, and potpourri, this wine is a delicious addition to any holiday table.
