Cante Cigale Rouge Pays d’Oc 2021

750ml

Sale price$21.00

If France’s spicy, yet austere northern Rhone and stately Bordeaux regions went on vacation in the south of France together, the whole adventure would taste like this fun and juicy red blend from the husband and wife team of Dominique Bésinet Castillon and Alban Castillon at Domaine du Bosc. Deep purple in color, with soft, almost flowy tannins, this is a perfect partner for grilled meats, vegetables, and sipping in the late-afternoon sun. Cante Cigale means “cicada’s song” and speaks to the intoxicating symphony of cicadas that seem to announce the return of warmer weather in France’s southwest.

Domaine du Bosc

Hailing from a family that has been rooted in winemaking for generations, Jean Bésinet founded Domaine du Bosc in 1941 in the Hérault department in the Languedoc region of southern France, not far from the beautiful seaside resort of Cap d’Agde. The ancient volcanic soils and proximity to the sea provides these wines with a uniquely fascinating minerality and singular freshness. Jean Bésinet worked for decades to adapt grapes this very particular terroir, building an international reputation for this tiny domaine in the process along with his son Pierre. Today, Dominique Bésinet Castillon and Alban Castillon, Pierre’s daughter and son-in-law, work to continue the family’s legacy and dedication to winemaking in the Languedoc.
