La Croix des Loges

Bonnezeaux 1986

750ml
$65

Bonnezeaux lies within a small part of a single commune—Thouarcé—on the right bank of the Layon, across three south-facing slopes. Recognised as a leading appellation, the soils have developed over sandstone schists and quartz. The older wines of this region develop notes of acacia, verbena and orange peel before reaching an extraordinary level of aromatic complexity with notes of ripe quince, cooked apricot, caramel and tropical fruit and an underlying layer of spice. Luscious, powerful and robust this desert wine is the perfect balance between vibrancy and richness.

La Croix des Loges

Domaine Croix des Loges covers 43 acres within the commune of Martigné Briand, on the white, chalky, limestone soils in the heart of the Loire Valley's Anjou appellation. The domaine is helmed by Sophie and Jean-Christian Bonnin, whose extensive experience and commitment to sustainable winemaking shines through in their wines.
