Ettore Germano

Sergio Germano's winery, located near the medieval tower of Serralunga in the Barolo appellation, reflects the structured, substantial character of the region's wines. After completing six years at the School of Enology in Alba and working at Fontanafredda, Sergio returned to his family estate in 1993, which still bears the name of his father Ettore, a renowned grape grower and vine-grafting expert who made small quantities of wine for private customers. Sergio's vineyards span two distinct areas—his traditional holdings in Barolo and over 10 acres near Cigliè at the southern tip of the Dogliani appellation—enabling him to produce an exceptional range that includes classic regional wines like Barolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera, as well as vibrant white wines, one of Italy's best Rieslings, and excellent sparkling wine from his Cigliè vineyards located 30 minutes south of his home and winery.
