This is a thoughtful, bold, biodynamic, and spicy Zinfandel from famed winemaker Phil Coturri. Made from hand-harvested estate fruit and elegantly packaged with a label by famed rock-and-roll artist Stanley Mouse, the wine offers flavors of brambled cherry, blueberry, and rhubarb pie, backed by aromas of forest underbrush and dried apricot. On the palate, the wine is juicy and alluring, with a lengthy, powerful finish. It's an amazing addition to any dinner party!

The 2014 vintage was marked by an easygoing spring with moderate warmth through most of the early months. Low precipitation in the latter half of the growing season and a few, sparse yet well-timed rains led to wines with intense aromatics and brilliant color.

If you ask him, Phil Coturri might quote a Levon Helm song and describe himself as a “poor old dirt farmer”. However, after 35 years pioneering organic and biodynamic winegrowing in California, descriptions range from “famed organic viticulturalist” by the Hollywood Reporter to “the ubiquitous wizard of sustainable winemaking” by Sonoma Magazine. He was born with the cultural palate of Italian immigrants, weaned on the music and ethos of San Francisco in the 1960’s and planted deep into the rocky hillsides of Sonoma Valley.
