Sourced from the San Valentino 50-year old vineyard in Montefalco, this red wine is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino, and 15% Montepulciano. Harvested in the last ten days in October, Paolo Bea macerates the grapes for roughly 30 days, and then ages the wine in 3 years in stainless steel with an additional 4-12 months in bottle. A delicious contradiction of pretty elegance and rustic, this red showcases plump dark fruit, earthiness, and herbaceous richness.

Bea produces perhaps his most renowned wine from pure Sagrantino grown on the prized hilltop site of Pagliaro. The Bea family is one of the most noteworthy names in the Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG and their family approach to winemaking can be described as traditional and non-interventionalist.
