Ryan Patrick

Rock Island Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

750ml
$22

Selected from several vineyards across the Columbia Valley, this blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, and 11% Syrah has great nuance and complexity. Aged for 30 months in 20% new American oak barrels, this sustainably-farmed wine has aromas of vanilla and toasted oak spice, and gives way to deep dark black fruits. On the palate, this red wine is rich with a concentrated mouthfeel in the midpalate leading to tantalizing notes of black currrant, plum, blackberry jam and finishes with lingering spicy black pepper. Enjoy alongside grilled salmon.

Staff Pick: "Soft vanilla unfolds into a jam of dark fruits in this gorgeous Washington red! I love to pair this with big sauces -- eggplant parm or even some mac and cheese!" - Katelyn

Ryan Patrick

Named after the founders’ two sons, Ryan Patrick is a family winery located in Columbia Valley AVA, who make approachable wines with a serious edge. Ryan Patrick believes in artisanal winemaking where the grape is at the center. Many wineries use static recipes for their wines; instead, the winemaking team, headed by Kendall Mix, does daily fermentations with different yeast or temperatures to achieve a specific effect. Ryan Patrick sources its wines from a variety of vineyards and AVAs, including Elephant Mountain Vineyard, Sagemoor Farms, Red Mountain AVA and Red Heaven Vineyard. This way, the winery can source the best grapes for, say, a ripe chardonnay, or the best Syrah grapes that need a warmer climate.
