Founded in 1977 by Mexican immigrants Manny and Maria Frias, Frias Family Vineyard is an artisanal family-owned winery located in the Napa Valley sourcing premium fruit from both Spring Mountain and Oakville AVAs. They specialize in small production and terroir-driven wines like this exceptional red blend. The 2020 Lady of the Dead has a backbone of Cabernet from Napa Valley, supplemented by Syrah, Tempranillo, and Graciano from premier vineyard sites in Paso Robles. The complexity on the nose immediately indicates it is a wine to be taken seriously. It offers notes of violets & purple flowers, blue and black fruit, and a subtle hint of sweet oak, while with a nuance of freshly tilled earth underneath. Dark red berries and cassis on the palate are highlighted by top notes of Bing cherry and a touch of savory smoked meat. 

Frias Family Vineyards suffered losses in the recent California wildfires, and are hard at work rebuilding for new releases. With great acidity and polished tannins this wine is truly a rare treat.
