Winemaker Paolo Caciorgna started making Ciauria with the goal of creating an everyday Etna Rosso that would demonstrate the beauty of Etna's wines, while maintaining a humble simplicity. This 100% Nerello Mascalese is fermented in stainless steel and aged for 6 months in neutral barrels. Fresh and fun, this wine is spicy and exotic, with a burst of tangerine that evolves into a mix of ginger, young strawberries and dried roses. Light-to-medium bodied, it's round and juicy, with fleshy, ripe red fruits offset by hints of sour melon, herbs, and minerality.
