  • Woman Maker

Giovanna Neri, founder of Col di Lamo, says that her wines are like her children. She raises them carefully, from the vineyard to the cellar, giving each the care and space they need to reach their full potential. This exceptional red is a great example of her approach. Produced only in the best years, this cuvee, named for her daughter, Diletta, made from 100% Sangiovese grown in two parcels located at the highest elevation on the estate, fermented using only indigenous yeasts and aged in Slavonian oak. The wine is a jewel-toned garnet in the glass, with aromas of rose petal potpourri, rosemary, Morello cherry, plum, sweet spice, and balsamic. This is excellent with stews, braises, salumi, and even aged cheeses. Sustainable.

Col di Lamo

Giovanna Neri, founder of Col di Lamo, has a degree in law but inherited her father’s love of wine after growing up on his farm in Montalcino. After taking over the family’s operations in the mid-1990s, she is now a highly successful and sought-after winemaker. Giovanna’s unique touch is now supported by that of her daughter, Diletta. Their great enthusiasm, commitment, and dedication have made Col di Lamo one of the most dynamic, refined wines in the Montalcino area.
