Pelaverga Piccolo is a rare grape indigenous to Piemonte, cultivated by less than a dozen winemakers. This wine is a very pale ruby, almost rose-like in appearance, and smells like pink peppercorns, wild strawberries, dried roses & spice. Light-bodied & juicy, it nonetheless has a lot of complexity. Served with a slight chill, it is reminiscent of a Trousseau. As it warms, it becomes more like a Burgundy. This wine is unique, enticing, and a perfect companion for poultry & roast vegetables, cured meats or a night of Netflix binge-streaming.
