Domaine Chevrot

Hautes-Cotes-de-Beaune Rouge 2022

  • Organic

This organic Pinot Noir comes from four plots in Cheilly-lès-Maranges, at the southern tip of Burgundy’s famed Cotes-de-Beaune, on ancient rock and soil and gravel from the Cozanne and Dheune valleys. Aged for 18 months in neutral oak and stainless steel, the finished wine is positively luxurious and fresh. Aromas of black cherry and strawberry blossom come right out of the glass, and develop into additional notes of blackberry, plum, forest floor and mulling spices against a mineral backbone. It’s a classic wine for any occasion.

Domaine Chevrot

Maranges, located at the southern tip of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, is the home of the Chevrot family, who have been making wine here since 1830. Today the winery is run by two brothers, Pablo and Vincent Chevrot and domaine consists of 18.5 hectare of sustainably farmed vines around Maranges, Santenay, and the Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune. The brothers have maintained the traditions of their parents but have built upon their success, starting with conversion of the vineyards to organic viticulture in 2008. Today, they practice biodynamic viticulture, and never add any enzymes, acid or sugar during winemaking. In fact, most of the wines see little to no sulfur until bottling (the total sulfur is 10 mg/Lfor reds and 30-50 mg/L for whites).
