Weszeli
The foundation of the winery where Weszeli vinifies their wines today was laid in 1679. For more than 300 years, mixed farming had been practiced in the flatlands and on the terraces around Langenlois, with viticulture playing only a minor role. It wasn’t until the second half of the last century that the farmers working in the region began focusing exclusively on winegrowing, drawing on a wealth of experience that has been passed down from generation to generation. The knowledge about the special characteristics of the vineyards, the specific sites, the deep-rooted grape varieties and microclimatic particularities—Weszeli tries not only to preserve them, but also to build on them with their own experiences and ideas. In short: to give the established traditions new life.
