Uncle Nearest 1856 Whiskey

750ml

Sale price$62.00

Uncle Nearest 1856 is an award-winning blend, bottled at 100 proof. A blend of premium aged whiskies between 8 and 14 years old, it is astonishingly smooth and can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in your favorite cocktail. On the nose, baled hay and pumpkin seed with subtle notes of ripe stone fruit. Bold and spicy upfront, each sip unfolds into sweet caramel and maple, with a long, rich finish. It is a perfect sipping whiskey, full-flavored and a little decadent.

The name is an homage to Nearest Green, the formerly enslaved man who is credited with teaching Jack Daniels how to distill whiskey and the creation of the Lincoln County Process, the sugar maple charcoal filtering process used to make most Tennessee whiskey today.

Uncle Nearest

This award-winning whiskey brand Black-owned and operated, inspired by the first known African-American master distiller, Nathan "Nearest" Green, a formerly enslaved man who taught Jack Daniels the craft of distilling and who perfected the unique filtering process used to create most Tennessee whiskey. Each small batch is aged in barrels hand-selected by master distiller Victoria Eady Butler, a descendent of Nearest Green.
