Tenuta Olim Bauda
La Bauda, the residence of the Bertolino family since 1961, has a history rooted far back in time, as far as 1220. Located in the heart of Monferrato, Piedmont, this mansion has seen several transformations over time: from the summer residence of renowned tenor Giovanni Battista De Negri to a refuge and infirmary for wounded soldiers during World War II to a wine cellar. Today, this historic home and the surrounding 100 hectares of vineyards belong to the Bertolino family, who purchased the estate in 1961. Today, the estate is managed by fourth-generation winemaker Dino Bertolini, with his siblings Diana and Gianni, and is dedicated to organic farming. All grapes are hand-harvested, and herbicides and chemical fertilizers are completely banned at the property. This dedication can be tasted in the quality of their wines, which routinely receive accolades from critics and consumers alike.
