Stephan Steinmetz
Stephan Steinmetz describes himself as a "thick head with charm." Since 1992, he has carried on the legacy of his winemaking ancestors with knowledge, passion, and plenty of stubbornness. He focused on sustainable winemaking in one of the world’s most difficult terroirs—the steep Obermosel, which lies south of the Saar river near the border of Luxembourg. He uses traditional hand-harvesting methods and relies on traditional handicraft in the cellar, using almost no machinery. The result are fresh and flavorful wines that have impressed critics and consumers alike.
