A blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, and Jaen (Mencia), notes of wild berries, black pepper and wild flowers tease the nose and enchant the palate. The wine is fresh and bold, without being jammy, with smooth tannins and a lengthy, food-friendly finish.
Quinta da Mariposa
Quinta da Mariposa is a family project of Lúcia Freitas and Filipe Cruz, based in the small Village Carregal do Sal, in the heart of the Dão. It all started in 1985, when Lúcia's grandfather, António Correia, planted a small vineyard in Dão. A trained chemist, Lúcia worked at some of the best wineries in the region for 11 years before joining the family estate with the goal of creating a new project that harmonizes respect for the land with the extraordinary Mediterranean terroir of the Dao. The Quinta da Mariposa vineyards operate under an integrated protection system, reducing or minimizing risks to human health and the environment, favoring the development of healthy crops with the least possible disturbance of agricultural and forestry ecosystems and encouraging natural mechanisms of struggle against the enemies of cultures.
