What's most exciting about this gorgeously dark, yet light and lifted rose, is that it comes from Sicily’s famous terre rosse, deep red sandy soils derived from the southern Apennines, high in active calcium carbonate, combining with the nearby sea to imbue a salty freshness to the wines of an otherwise warm and arid zone, producing richly colored wines that taste like pure fall sunshine. Enjoy alongside roasted turkey and cranberry sauce as well as spice-driven fare. 

Biscaris

Biscaris is an 11-hectare biodynamic estate in the town of Acate, in the classico zone of Sicily’s only DOCG, Cerasuolo di Vittoria. The winery takes its name from Acate’s not-so-distant past: It was originally called Biscaris. From 1633 to 1812 it was the Principality of Biscari, whose castle appears on the wine labels. The name was formally changed in 1938. Antonia Guardabasso and her daughter-in-law own and manage this estate, which is a true family affair as most of their workers are relatives. The wines are healthy, honest, and typical, transporting you right to the southeast of Sicily.
