Merayo
The Merayo family has been linked to winemaking in Castilla y Leon, located in northwestern Spain, for decades. In 2010, Pedro Meray, after a lifetime of caring for vineyards, established his own winery in Bierzo. The winery is surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards — each between 40-100 years of age — on a mixture of clay, stone, and slate soils on the family estate, Finca Miralmonte. Today, the winery is renowned for their commitment to the environment. All wines are produced from estate-grown, sustainably farmed grapes, with a special focus on indigenous varietals such as Godello, Doña Blanca, and Mencia. No pesticides or herbicides are used in the vineyards and only indigenous yeasts are used in the cellar.
