Maison François Ducrot
François Ducrot is widely acclaimed as a “vine magician.” Originally from Burgundy, he studied oenology at the Institut de la Vigne et du Vin in Dijon and soon after started working as the winemaker for Domaine Enclos de la Croix, in Lansargues. A couple of years ago, Durcot realized that several talented local organic farmers in Aspiran, a 45-minute drive west of Montpellier, were selling their grapes to co-ops to be mixed with other grapes in the production of bulk wine. François decided to buy these grapes and create a negociant project that showcases vibrant wines from an all-but-unknown terroir of Languedoc. The vision: create beautiful wine from cleaner soils, where trees, wild animals, vines, and families could live in harmony.
