The name honors both the village's winemaking heritage and Marguerite de Bourgogne (1250-1308), the noble Duchess who devoted her life to charity after retiring to these lands. The three "M"s represent Marguerite's legacy, the Maison, and the Modernity brought to traditional Burgundian winemaking.
