Transcontinental Rum Line - La Maison du Whisky
Transcontinental Rum Line is a project from La Maison du Whiskey, one of the largest importers and distributors of rare whiskies in France. It is inspired by the historic journeys of rum barrels between Europe, the Americas, the South Pacific, and Africa. Founded by Georges Bénitah in 1956, the family business’ first shop has been opened in Paris in 1968. Three more shops followed in Paris, plus another two on La Réunion and in Singapore in more recent times. In the 1970s, Georges became one of the first people to import Scotch to France.
