Petite Arvine is a late-ripening white grape known for its enticing citrus aromas. Native to the Valle d’Aosta, it has long been produced by local families, however it shines in this bright and bold white from Di Francesco-Gasperi. Fresh and beautifully balanced, with stony minerality, this wine is fresh and perfect for summer sipping alongside lobster rolls, or with pate and cheese at the park. Just 2,500 bottles were produced — don’t miss this gem.

Di Francesco-Gasperi

Di Francesco-Gasperi is a marriage of two families and two great friends, Luigi Gasperi, and Ennio Di Francesco. Ennio and his family moved from Liguria to Sant Pierre in Valle D’Aosta in 1947 as his father came to work in the nearby casino. Luigi and family are Valdostani — natives of the Valle d’Aosta — through and through. The friends, who met as youngsters, had an idea to revitalize the rocky terraces above the Di Francesco’s home that was historically planted to vine but had become run down in recent decades. They brought their values and work ethic to the project: respect for each other and the land, honesty, sincerity, and curiosity. Today, they focus on producing high-quality wines with minimal intervention, focusing on local varietals, such as Petite Arvine and Fumin.
