The well-named Grand Cru village of Bouzy is located in the southeast of Montagne de Reims, one of Champagne’s most renowned regions. The slopes of the mountain occupy most of the town and up to the vineyards of Champagne, which grow atop mineral-rich soils ideal for the cultivation of Pinot Noir and Champagne. The Beauforts have been making wine in this area since the 16th century, favored even by Louis XIV during his reign.
