A 2024 limited release, this heavily oaked Irish whiskey was a happy accident that sparked innovation. The Mistake is triple distilled, blended in-barrel, and aged in former bourbon barrels before finishing in virgin American oak for an accidental two years. The nose is bursting with aromas of hickory BBQ, toasted walnut, singed cinnamon, and seared orange zest. While the palate has tantalizing notes of vanilla bean, warm molasses, toffee, and a hint of granny smith apple. The finish is lovely, like a long hug from an old friend.
