Founded in the 1940s by Paul Barnier and Amade Carod, his son-in-law, Freres Carod is situated on 40 hectares on both sides of the Vallée de la Drôme on clay and marl mountain soils. Under climatic influences from the high plateaux of Vercors (peaks over 2,000 meters) and from the Drôme, the vineyard enjoys sunny days and cool nights and distinct seasons with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Carod wineries are certified by ECOCERT for the transformation and the wine making process of grapes from organic farming.
