Fox Run Vineyards
Fox Run was a dairy farm in Penn Yann, NY, near Seneca Lake for more than a century. The first fine wine grapes were planted on the property in 1984, and it wasn’t until 1990 that the winery was founded by Larry and Adele Wildrick. Today the winery, which extends nearly 50 acres on mineral-rich, glacial soils, and produces remarkably excellent, limited production estate wines. Managed by Scott and Ruth Osborn, with Ruth’s sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Albert Zafonte, Fox Run aims to achieve full creative expression within each wine they produce, limited impact on the flora and fauna of Seneca Lake. The winemaking team, headed by John Kaiser and Craig Hosbach practices dry farming, and has introduced mycorrhizae fungi into our root systems to help bring more water and nutrition to the vines and soil. In addition, the winery planted a 4-acre monarch butterfly and bee sanctuary to support the local pollinator population.
