Emilio
Italy is famous for its gastronomy, but no other region has contributed to this fame more than Emilia-Romagna. Chef/Restauranteur called this land one of “fast car and slow food,” paying homage to its culinary history. This is the home of Mattia Montanari, the winemaker behind Emilio.
Emilio is Mattia’s first project beyond his family’s successful, eponymous winery, and is produced from vines planted 10-15 years ago about 250m above sea level. The project name, “Emilio” pays homage to the ancient roadway, via Emilia, which passes the region’s key cities. The name of each cuvee refers to a famous aria, honoring the operatic roots of Modena, the hometown of Mattia and Luciano Pavarotti. Now that's something to sing about.
