Domaine La Grangette
Helmed by Christelle and Mathieu Caron, Domaine la Grangette is located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Cevennes region, along the Bassin de Thau. Bordered by the “Via Domitia”, the domaine is steeped in history. In the Middle Ages, the lands were part of the lordship of Baron de Guers. They were cultivated with cereals and alfalfa, to feed the castle's large cavalry (hence its name Grangette, small barn).
Today, Domaine la Grangette extends more than 60 hectares, including 10 hectares of pine forests, is situated just 5 kilometers from the sea, and practices sustainable agriculture. Their philosophy is to work organically allowing the regeneration of the soil with ground cover in between every other row to decompress the ground after harvest, digging in the cuttings after pruning in winter and then mechanically cleaning and rotating the soil at the end of July.
