Description
Florian André is a talented winemaker who has found a property with superb potential. He approached the religious order that owned the Chateau de Manissy, which is above and contiguous to Chateau d’Aqueria in Tavel. Apparently many had tried and been turned down by the Brothers. In this case, however, they were impressed by Florian’s resume and plans. The "Cuvée des Lys" is a blend of Grenache, Clairette, and Syrah with a vibrant color, aromas and flavor.  From the first sip, the wine explodes with a cascade of fruit, finishing with lovely balance and minerality. Organic and biodynamic, the wine is an excellent partner for Mediterranean fare, sushi or sashimi.

Chateau de Manissy

Château de Manissy stands on the right Bank of the river Rhône; an historic wine estate dating back to the 17th century, whose iconic vineyards produce wines in the Tavel appellation. In the early 20th century, both the château and its vineyards were bequeathed to a religious order of monks. In 2003, winegrower Florian André took over management of the vineyards and has picked up where the Brothers left off, making classic southern Rhône wines. Florian’s mission is to find new ways to improve environmental performance and protect his vines and terroirs. The entire 60-hectare estate is farmed biodynamically.
