Camins 2 Dreams
Mireia Taribó was born and raised in Catalunya, Spain, where wine was a part of almost every meal. She knew from a young age that she wanted to study wine, and eventually studied Enology at the University of Rovira and Virgili. She first came to California as an intern, and soon met her wife, Tara Gomez.
Tara’s passion for wine began when she was young and her parents used to take her wine tasting throughout the Central Coast. It was the connection of wine to nature and science that made her want to pursue winemaking as a career. After studying enology at California State University, Fresno, she worked for a few wineries, including Fess Parker and J. Lohr, and founded her first label — Kalawashaq’ Wine Cellars (named for the Native American village where her Chumash ancestors once lived in today’s Santa Ynez Valley). Tara is the first and only registered Native American winemaker in the country, and brings a unique perspective to her winemaking style.
Camins 2 Dreams was born in 2017, out of Tara and Mireia’s shared love for wine, winemaking, and each other. They source fruit exclusively from organic, biodynamic, and SIP Certified vineyards in Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County, that share their values of respect for the land and their workers.
