Bera

Bera

Nestled on the steep, sun-drenched hillsides of Canelli in the Piedmont region of Italy, Bera Vittorio & Figli has been a family winery for nearly three centuries. The estate was first acquired in 1758 by founding ancestor Giovanni Battista Bera in the Serra Masio area — the historic heart of Moscato production — and has remained in the family ever since, now tended by siblings Gianluigi, Alessandra, and Vittoria. Spanning 12 hectares of organically certified vineyards, the estate's chalky, limestone-rich soils and southeast-facing slopes, with gradients between 40% and 70%, create ideal conditions for their signature Moscato, as well as a thoughtful range of other varietals. Every aspect of viticulture is carried out by hand — from manual farming and harvesting in small crates to a deep respect for the surrounding landscape — reflecting a philosophy rooted in the land itself. As the family puts it, they are people of the vine, with roots planted in these hills for centuries, and they believe that wine resembles the people who make it.
