Derived from “Mi Gente,” which means “My People,” Mijenta refers to a community of like-minded people who come together to celebrate life. This award-winning, additive-free and wholly sustainable tequila is distilled using fully mature Blue Weber agave, then aged for up to 6 months in a blend of American white oak, French oak, and French acacia casks. The resulting full-bodied, elegant tequila offers beautiful spice and floral aromas, and shows the commitment and craft of sommelier, Maestra Tequilera, and co-founder Ana María Romero.

Producer of Mijenta’s award-winning, additive-free, sustainable tequila, Altos Planos is a Certified B Corporation founded on the idea of creating a great product in a responsible way while delivering real benefits to local communities and society at large. From inception, Mijenta’s operations, procurement practices, sourcing and packaging have been structured around the concept of sustainability with the goal of setting a new standard for the drinks industry. Co-founded by sommelier, mixologist, and Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero, all of Mijenta’s products are carbon neutral and the packaging is eco-friendly. Mijenta also works closely with local businesses and communities, using exclusively Mexican partners to source packaging elements, and works with likeminded organizations to amplify its positive impact.
