Description

A light ruby in color, this red wine is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Sagrantino from 16 year old vines. The wine is aged for a year in Slavonian oak casks before refining in bottle for six months. The result is a stunning wine delivering notes of pomegranate, redcurrant, sour cherry, and a hint of blackberry. The finish is long with slight notes of orange and balanced with light, elegant tannins. Delicious alongside braised meats, pasta dishes, and grilled vegetables.

It began almost like a game, breaking down their family name of German origin in: ‘Heil’ meaning wellbeing and beauty in a broader sense, and ‘Bron’ meaning source. Bellafonte’s continuing desire is to interpret the Montefalco territory and its vines with ancient roots in a new way.
