Producer Spotlight: Spellbound
As the air turns crisp, there’s no better time to embrace the bewitching charm of Spellbound wines. Hailing from the sun-drenched vineyards of California, this producer captures the mysterious allure of the harvest season in every bottle.
Everyone knows the warm sun nurtures plants, bringing grapevines to full maturity. But it’s the moon, ruler of the tides, whose gravitational force helps pull water up from the soil during the cool nights that has influenced farmers since ancient times.

Wine and farming has been a part of Peter Krauter’s family for generations. Peter grew up working on the family farm, which gave him a strong work ethic and a love for being outside from a young age. His father encouraged him to pursue a career in the wine industry, thus prompting his winemaking journey that started in Napa Valley over 15 years ago. It has brought him to wonderfully undiscovered wine areas as well as some very well-known ones. Now, he’s been involved in making Spellbound wines for six years.
The founding partners of Spellbound chose the name and label imagery to showcase the ever-present magical, mystical force of the moon. Spellbound wines are sourced from throughout the winegrowing regions of California, producing incredibly food-friendly wines that are meant to bring people together and reveal the beauty in the day-to-day.
