A family-owned winery for more than 150 years, Reichsrat von Buhl is one of Germany’s finest wine producers. Indeed, it was a von Buhl Riesling that was used to toast the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869. This crisp and crystalline Riesling is a great example of the winery at its best. Bone dry and refreshing, with balanced citrus, orchard, and stone fruit, this is how the Mittelhaardt  — the steep sloped heart of the Pfalz — smells and tastes.  It's bone-tingly good!

Reichsrat von Buhl

Reichsrat von Buhl was founded back in 1849 by Franz Peter Buhl and came about as part of the distribution of the original Jordan estate into the three smaller estates: Bassermann-Jordan, Reichsrat von Buhl, and Dr. Deinhard. In no time, the estate grew to be recognized for its uncompromising quality. It quickly gained fame both on a national and international level. It was a Von Buhl Riesling wine that was used to toast the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869.

A family-owned winery for more than 150 years, Reichsrat von Buhl is certified organic, and is an active ambassador of both natural, sustainable viticulture and of the best German wines. Their goal has always been to bring the character of the grape and vineyard, unaltered and pure into the glass. Since 2013, it has been led by a new team and technical director Mathieu Kauffmann. Long term viticultural manager Werner Sebastian remains responsible for the vineyards.
