In 1680, Jean Sparr founded the Sparr family winery in the Alsace village of Sigolsheim. Over the next three centuries, nine successive generations of the Sparr family worked the land, maintaining and expanding their estate. The Sparr winery has a philosophy; "the quality of a fine wine already exists in the grape." This lively Gewurztraminer, one of the noble grapes of Alsace offers notes of ripe lychee, ginger, and lush white flowers flecked with baking spices. Full-bodied, but dry on the palate, the wine is rich with flavors of citrus, peach, cherry blossom, balanced with freshness and elegance.
