A touch of smoke precedes notes of ripe, black cherries and baked plums on this brilliantly blended cuvee of extraordinary quality. The name of the wine is a reference to the heritage of the region, Pannonia, which once a province of the Roman Empire, bounded North and East by the river Danube. Tannins are very soft, and fresh acidity keeps the rounded fruit in check, while the character of the wine shimmers with clarity. Pannonica Red is the perfect companion for relaxing and unwinding for the connoisseur as much as for the novice. Try this one with steak, grilled meat or poultry, and delectable, creamy cheeses.

Hopler

The Höpler family has been making wine since the 1860’s and it was Jost Höpler in the 1980’s who founded the winery, now located on the northwest shore of Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, a region known for producing wines of distinct minerality, character and identity. Today, under the leadership of Jost’s son, winemaker Christof Höpler, the winery produces wines designed to bring people together, wines to discovered, enjoyed, and experienced by anyone. His stewardship ensures a balance combining up to date viticultural practices with proven methods of the past. Höpler is certified sustainable by Sustainable Austria and has been following sustainable practices for decades. This is a process of continual improvement.
